Neela Kler: UNDERSTOOD / BACKWARDS / Until July 12th, 2025
In a world that feels increasingly fractured, Kler’s work offers a meditation on presence, transformation and the spiritual dimensions of making. Through handbuilt forms marked by fingerprints, cracks, and visible repairs, Kler invites viewers to encounter imperfection not as failure, but as a testament to endurance and a site of transformation.
“To remember is to hold something in existence,” Kler reflects. Her work explores how memory can be an act of resistance, a refusal to let rupture dissolve into silence, instead carving out space for healing.
With a background in conceptual art and installation, she brings a philosophical sensitivity to the domestic and sculptural object. Kler’s early work deconstructed camouflage and industrial materials into abstracted nature forms, tracing a visual lineage from colonial violence to repair.
